The Ocean Beach Business Center is a fantastic partner to my company. They manage all my printing needs and packaging needs and they provide a super-friendly, personalized, high-quality service.

I am working on hosting\a résumé workshop.  Great people! OBBC I recommend them for anyone that needs any print or packaging services in Ocean Beach or Point Loma.

My journey with People’s compels me, I hope yours does for you, too. They graciously allow the community to advertise on a high-profile bulletin and that is where I launched my résumé service in 2011. From there, I progressed to advertising in the newsletter and developing and forming relationships with staff and member/owners. I have conducted consultations and written résumés in almost every corner of the lot. Many times, outside on beautiful, sunny San Diego days.  I consider People’s Co Op the greatest person-made institution in all of Ocean Beach. I love it. I love everything about it.  Serving their massive member/owner base is my plan.

People’s Organic Food Market. Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA.

People’s is a 40+ year-old organic cooperative. They sell organic food, have a deli/salad bar upstairs, and a great health department. They are Pillar of the Community in terms of employer, healthy food provider, and community resource. I have been enjoying my owner-membership there for over 10 years now.

They allow me to utilize their meeting room space to meet my clients. This afford myself and you the customer a nice, safe, comfortable environment for us to meet and engage about your career. They are located at 4765 Voltaire St, San Diego, CA 92107. Parking is tight! They have a lot in the back alley as well. **They have just opened a cafe next-door, a full-service vegetarian restaurant and cafe.

Case Study: Résumés, Career-Counseling Services (Transition via lay-off), 13 Employees including branch GM

Sky West Airlines was closing a local, North San Diego county location at the Palomar Airport. They benevolently decided to provide the thirteen longtime-employees with career transition services. I contracted with them to provide each employee with a résumé  cover-letter, and career counseling services. They ranged in role from the branch General Manager down to Customer-Service Representatives and Baggage Handlers. All the employees loved their résumés, and I have received repeat business from quite a few of them as they grew into new roles and transitioned further in their careers, requ

Take advantage of hiring peaks

Major hiring initiatives may follow close on the heels of the holidays and summer. “The big months for hiring are January and February, and late September and October,” says Testa. “Job seekers who make contact right at the start of these cycles have the best chance of being hired.”

— John Rossheim, Monster Senior Contributing Writer

I have a unique insight into these hiring cycles. Let’s prepare you for all of all the opportunities this upcoming hiring season. When there is any downtime in the year, that is also the best time to present yourself to hiring managers. They often have the extra time available to view your application more extensively.

Nurses!

I have had a large demand for specialized job services from healthcare workers, specifically from the nursing profession.

I have put my pen to work and created a custom curriculum for nursing professionals  of all levels that includes: Résumé, Custom Job-Search, Interview Preparation, and LinkedIn Page(s).

  1. Great Résumé:  My proprietary and unique way of presenting the data to hospitals, clinics, and other employers has resulted in great success within the field. New Grads take note!
  2. Job-Search: My custom job-search methods work extremely well and very quickly.  Saves hours! Make the best use of your time.
  3. Interview Preparation: I will help you distinguish yourself as the best nursing candidate by teaching you what to say and how to say it in the highly competitive interview process. Behavioral and Skills-Based preparation.
  4. LinkedIn Profile: A digital version of your Résumé on the world’s most utilized job/career related business networking platform.

I have worked with nurses from all levels: brand-new graduates fresh out of nursing school to thirty-year master practitioners. They get their “dream jobs” at some of the top hospitals and clinics in California and sixteen other states!

Placement, staffing, and recruiting services are all constantly evolving and developing into bigger business segments of my company and I will look forward to enhancing the relationships I have as well as creating new ones with with amazing healthcare practitioners around the country.

“With modern technological advances and growing competition for the best nursing jobs, a vague, uninspiring resume just won’t cut it. The opportunities are vast, employers have diverse needs, and every nurse is unique. In this ever-changing world of online applications, writing a strong nursing resume that portrays your skills and accomplishments in an impressive way can be a daunting task.

Think of your job search as your own personal marketing campaign. And the product is you! Your resume is essentially an advertisement for your brand. A brand is not simply a logo, it’s the overall impression you give your audience. In this case, your audience is the potential employer.

As with any advertisement, the goal of your resume is to pique your audience’s interest. It does not get you the job. It gets you an interview. Once you’ve been invited for an interview, your audience is already partially ‘sold’, but it’s up to you to close the deal.

Just as an advertisement has a few seconds to capture the attention of an audience, your resume also has limited time to express your value to the reader. Or, in many cases, a resume-reading robot.” This is from Nurses.Org and I agree with a lot of the content expressed.
